New Patient FormHow do I become a patient?
You can enrol permanently by completing our enrolment form, or come in and see us as a casual patient without enrolling first. See our New Patient Application Form page for the forms you'll need.
When can I see a doctor or nurse?
Doctor and nurse appointments both run Monday to Friday, 8am to 12.15pm and 1.30pm to 5pm, with Wednesday finishing at 1pm and the last appointment at 12.45pm.
Can a doctor come and see me at home?
In some cases, yes. Home visits are available for patients who are elderly, frail or too unwell to get to the clinic.
How do I get a repeat prescription?
Call reception on (09) 631 5305, email nurse@gavinlobohealth.co.nz, or order online. A standard fee applies, and same-day pickup is usually available.
Why is there a charge for a repeat prescription?
It's more than a signature. Dr Lobo reviews your notes, checks recent blood tests and screens for drug interactions before reissuing anything, which takes clinical time.

Most appointments carry a cost, which depends on the nature of the visit. Reception can confirm the likely fee when you book.
What if I need to cancel an appointment?
Please let us know as soon as you can. A 50% cancellation fee applies if you don't show up without notice.
What payment options are there?
We accept cash, EFTPOS, direct credit and credit card, and can set up an automatic payment arrangement if that helps with budgeting.

(09) 631 5305What if I'm infectious, can I still attend my appointment?
If you might be contagious, please ask for a phone consultation instead. If you do need to be seen in person, wear a mask inside the clinic.
What if I have an accident?
Cuts and strains are seen promptly. For a suspected broken bone, White Cross is often quicker than the emergency department unless it's a major fracture. Surcharges apply for ACC consultations.
What if I think I'm pregnant?
Book an appointment with the doctor for a confirmation test, and we'll help arrange what comes next.
How will I hear about my test results?
We'll contact you by phone, text or email if a result is abnormal or needs follow-up. Normal results aren't routinely followed up. Allow 48 hours for results to be processed, and portal users can view reviewed results online.
Where do I go if I get sick after hours?
Call 111 for chest pain or anything life threatening. Outside that, our after-hours line, (09) 631 5305, connects you with an experienced nurse, and the nearest Accident & Medical clinic is White Cross St Lukes, 52 St Lukes Road.

Eden Quarter Pharmacy at 296A Dominion Road, about 150 metres from the practice. Phone (09) 630 0388.
